Am 14. Juli 2017 hat das Graduiertenkolleg KRITIS einen interdisziplinären Workshop zum Thema “Kritikalität” veranstaltet. Das Thema wurde sowohl aus geschichtswissenschaftlicher, soziologischer, ingenieuraler und philosophischer Perspektive beleuchtet, vor allem mit Blick auf Kritische Infrastrukturen und auf die Bedeutung von “Kritikalität” in diesem Kontext.

In February 2019, an international and multidisciplinary conference on “Urban Infrastructures: Criticality, Vulnerability and Protection” will take place at the Technische Universität Darmstadt. The focus of the conference is on networked critical infrastructures in cities as socio-technical systems that require special protection strategies due to their vulnerabilities.

Neuerscheinung des Graduiertenkollegs KRITIS

Der Sammelband „Was heißt Kritikalität? Zu einem Schlüsselbegriff der Debatte um Kritische Infrastrukturen“ ist aus einem Workshop des Kollegs im Sommer 2017 entstanden. Beiträger_innen sind die Teilnehmenden des Workshops „Kritikalität“, im welchem aus Sicht von Geschichte, Philosophie, Soziologie, Ingenieurwissenschaft und Risiko- und Krisenmanagement (hinter-)fragt wurde, was „Kritikalität“ in Bezug auf Kritische Infrastrukturen bedeutet.

The first publication of the Research Training Group KRITIS will be published by Springer VS in August 2018.

After three successful conferences in London, Prague and Salisbury, the meeting of the International Bridges Group in 2018 will be taking place in Regensburg (24–26 August). The conference will bring together historians, art historians, and archeologists. The goal is to discuss new ideas on medieval bridges and cities in which these bridges are located. One focus of the meeting will be English medieval bridges, followed by bridges of Central Europe and the Byzantine region.

In Kalenderwoche 19/2018 startet die Erhebung zum Projekt „Stärkung der Resilienz und Schutz der Stromversorgung im städtischen Handlungsraum“ der KRITIS-Kollegiatin Alice Knauf.

14. Juni 2018 im Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberg-Haus in Darmstadt

Das Eisenbahntechnische Kolloquium (ETK) wird jährlich im Frühsommer vom Institut für Bahnsysteme und Bahntechnik im Christoph-Lichtenberg-Haus in Darmstadt veranstaltet. Kennzeichnend für diese eintägige Vortragsveranstaltung ist eine Mischung anschaulicher Vorträge aus Forschung und Praxis zu einem aktuellen Thema mit intensiven fachlichen Diskussionen. Thema der diesjährigen Veranstaltung ist "Störfallmanagement – Die Planung des Unplanbaren“.

An der Technischen Universität Darmstadt ist im von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft geförderten interdisziplinären Graduiertenkolleg „Kritische Infrastrukturen: Konstruktion, Funktionskrisen und Schutz in Städten (KRITIS)“ unter dem Vorbehalt der Mittelbewilligung zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine Stelle für eine/einen Wiss. Mitarbeiterin/Mitarbeiter (65 %) im Bereich der Soziologie zu besetzen. Die Stelle ist bis zum 31. März 2021 befristet.

Regensburg, August 25-26, 2018

After three successful conferences in London, Prague and Salisbury, the International Bridges Group will meet next in Regensburg on August 25 & 26, 2018. This year, the group will cooperate with the „ Gesellschaft für Stadtgeschichte und Urbanisierungsforschung “, the Chair of European History at Regensburg University and the Research Training Group KRITIS at Technische Universität Darmstadt. The conference will bring together historians, art historians, linguists and literary scholars, archaeologists and engineers in order to present and discuss new ideas on medieval bridges and the cities in which these bridges reside. Topics may include the construction and maintenance of medieval bridges, the evolution and growth of medieval cities with stone bridges, the iconography of statues on bridges, the functions (practical and symbolic) of stone bridges, and the types of institutions connected with medieval bridges. Bridges as a cultural heritage could be another topic: How are medieval bridges in cities today perceived, preserved, staged and marketed?
